Service terms
Last updated October 22, 2026. LegacyPatch is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("we").
1. Scope
Each job is defined by a written quote (scope, price, timeline) that you accept before work begins. Work outside the quote is billed only with your written approval.
2. Your responsibilities
- You confirm you own the website or are authorized by its owner to engage us and grant access.
- You provide a dedicated, temporary account (hosting, SFTP, CMS or server) and keep your own independent backup where possible.
- You tell us about anything unusual: custom code, integrations, payment systems, compliance obligations.
3. How we work
- We take a full backup before making changes, and upgrades are performed on a staging copy before the live site is changed.
- Credentials are exchanged through encrypted one-time links, used only for the job, and you should revoke them on completion. We delete our copies when the job closes.
- Static Rebuilds recreate your own website's pages and content. Third-party themes, plugins, fonts and images stay under the licenses you hold; we do not resell or redistribute licensed third-party products.
- Work may be performed by vetted subcontracted engineers bound by confidentiality obligations no less protective than these terms.
4. Payment
Emergency Patch & Verify is paid upfront. Upgrades, Static Rebuilds and Complex Stack Rescue are paid 50% on acceptance and 50% on completion. "No fix, no fee" means: if we cannot complete an agreed upgrade, the deposit is refunded minus any third-party costs you approved. Shield Monthly is billed monthly in advance and can be cancelled anytime, effective at the end of the paid month.
5. No guarantee of absolute security
We apply the fixes and measures described in your quote. No service can guarantee a website will never be compromised, and we are not responsible for vulnerabilities in third-party software, hosting infrastructure, or changes made by others after we finish. If we find signs of a prior compromise, we will tell you; incident response is quoted separately.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any job is limited to the fees you paid for that job, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, revenue or data, except where such limitation is not permitted by the law that applies to you, including mandatory consumer protection laws.
7. Confidentiality
We treat everything we access on your systems as confidential and use it only to perform the job.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without prejudice to mandatory rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
